According to a recent UN Habitat report on Housing and urban slum development, one in eight people around the world live in slums or slum-like conditions. Slums are characterized by a lack of water & sanitation facilities, inadequate living space, and dilapidated houses. This breeds a toxic mix of drug addiction, violence, and broken families. Children lose their dignity and hope for the future. It is against this backdrop that ANCOP International Canada works to alleviate this growing scourge, by transforming communities and rebuilding lives through the ANCOP Community Development program (CDP).
